What Our Families Say
From parents who started early and students who are glad they did.
"I had three different exams and at first that felt really scary. But we went through each one and I started to understand what they were looking for. On the day I felt ready for all of them."

"I used to panic in the English paper because it is so long. We did it again and again in lessons until it did not feel scary anymore. I started finishing it properly and my scores kept going up."

"When I started I found the maths really hard but every week something new clicked. My tutor never made me feel bad, just kept helping me get better. By the end I actually looked forward to sessions."

"Maths was the bit I was most worried about but my tutor helped me figure out where I kept going wrong. By the end I actually enjoyed it. I passed and got into Kent Grammar!"

"Before I joined I used to rush through papers and get loads wrong. My tutor taught me to slow down and actually think. By the end I was finishing papers and checking my answers too."

"I was so nervous about the Kent test but my tutor kept telling me I was ready. When the results came I got in and I actually cried. Sterling helped me get there."

Who Are Sterling Study's 11+ Tutors?
Sterling Study's 11+ tutors are PhD-led specialists, DBS certified, and personally overseen by co-founders Dr Parth Patel and Dr Igors Pupko. Families searching for a private 11 Plus tutor or a grammar school entrance exam tutor get the same rigorous standard, whichever exam board their target school uses.
Parth holds a Neuroscience PhD from UCL and an MSc from Imperial College London, with research experience at the Francis Crick Institute. His background is in the science of how the brain learns and retains information.
Why this matters for your child: Parth builds 11+ Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning teaching around proven memory and pattern-recognition techniques, so students recognise question types instantly under exam time pressure.
Igors holds a PhD in Genetics from the University of Surrey and works as a Specialist Scientist at UCL. He leads the design of the 11+ curriculum, mapping each grammar school's exam board to a clear, structured lesson plan.
Why this matters for your child: Igors writes every 11+ worksheet, mock exam and progress test in-house, matched to whether your target school uses GL Assessment or CSSE.
Every 11 Plus tutor who teaches your child is chosen and overseen by Parth and Igors. All UK staff are DBS certified, and our Director, Ms Yesha Mukhtiar, is the named Safeguarding Officer. Because tuition is fully online, families searching for a grammar school tutor near me are never limited by geography, whether you are in London, Birmingham, Coventry, Wembley or East Ham, sessions run live, UK-wide.

Free Assessment, No Contract
Every family starts with a free assessment and a free trial class. There is no contract, so you can judge the fit before committing.
Why Does 11+ Preparation Matter?
The 11+ is a single exam day, but the reasoning skills and exam technique it demands take time to build properly.
Securing a Place
Grammar school places are competitive and awarded on exam performance. Solid preparation, matched to the right exam board, gives your child their best chance on the day.
Reasoning Skills Take Practice
Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning are not taught in most primary school classrooms, so students need dedicated practice to recognise question types quickly.
Exam Technique Under Time Pressure
11+ papers are strictly timed. Mock exams help students build the speed and accuracy the real exam demands.
Confidence on the Day
Regular progress tracking helps students walk into the exam room having already sat papers under realistic conditions.
